Recap: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 24 Week 5 Sends Home A Fan Favorite

Tonight was the big Disney night on “Dancing With the Stars.” Each week fans are getting closer to seeing who will win the mirror ball trophy. One big thing happened tonight, and that was that Maks Chmerkovskiy revealed that he will be back and dancing again next week. Now on to your recap for Season 24 Week 5.

Movie/Song: Evermore from Beauty and the Beast

Dance: Foxtrot

Thoughts:  Beautiful, elegant and there is no way he isn’t in the finals after tonight.

Len: The beast turned into Prince Charming.

Julianne: He nailed it.

Bruno:  He captured the classic, Disney feel.

Carrie Ann: She felt like he was trapped in tonight.

Thoughts: This is too cute for words. I don’t even really like Pinocchio, but this was amazing. It was nice to see this side of Nick’s personality. He usually seems so serious, but tonight we got to see him really let go and show his joyful side.

Julianne: She loved it, and he is getting better and better.

Bruno: They were living an loving the moment.

Carrie Ann: This was a real breakthrough for him.

Len: It was fun and had a feel good factor.

Movie/Song: Unforgettable from Finding Dory

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Thoughts: Her best dance. That is all there is to say.

Bruno: He feels like he met her for the first time tonight. He wants more of this.

Carrie Ann: This was a very profound performance.

Len: Tonight it all came out.

Julianne: She kept swimming like Dory.

Movie/Song: For The First Time In Forever from Frozen

Pro: Maks Chmerkovskiy—Alan is filling in

Thoughts: It was adorable, and I like how they added the snowball fight, and she really seems to enjoy playing Anna.

Carrie Ann: It was adorable but underwhelming.

Len: She brought out fun.

Julianne: She loved it.

Bruno: It was a character driven performance.

Thoughts: The video game theme is adorable. He seems a bit stiff, but he seems to be having a ball out there. I can feel his joy from where I am sitting.

Len: There was a lot in hold, which is key.

Julianne: He came to life and pulled it off.

Bruno: He didn’t wreck the tango.

Carrie Ann: She wants more dynamic.

Movie/Song: Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan

Thoughts: Season nine champ Donny Osmond sings. I had no idea he was the singing voice in the movie. This is my favorite Disney movie, so I may be a bit biased, but this is the best dance of the night. I love the fight, and she really embodies the character of Mulan.

Julianne: She showed every girl she can do anything they want. Brilliant!

Bruno: The fierce paso princess!

Carrie Ann: It was amazing.

Len: He really enjoyed it.

Scores: 10-9-10-10=39 out of 40

Star: David Ross

Claim To Fame: MLB star/Current World Series Champion

Movie/Song: Ride from Cars 3

Pro: Lindsay Arnold

Dance: Jive

Thoughts: ZZ Ward performs the song, which is amazing. I liked the dance, but I felt there was too much focus on ZZ than their dance. However, his smile just made the performance that much better.

Bruno: He always keeps the show going.

Carrie Ann: He didn’t miss a step.

Len: It was full on and high energy.

Julianne: It was awesome.

Scores: 7-7-8-7=29 out of 40

Aw, his family is there via Skype. So sweet.

Star: Nancy Kerrigan

Claim To Fame: Olympic figure skater

Movie/Song: That’s How You Know from Enchanted

Pro: Artem Chigvinstev

Dance: Jazz

Thoughts: It is so adorable. I love this movie and she really seem to capture the character of Giselle. She is a true princess tonight.

Carrie Ann: She is the most princess like.

Len: He loved it.

Julianne: Amazing and beautiful.

Bruno: He also loved it.

Scores: 9-9-9-9=36 out of 40

Star: Simone Biles

Claim To Fame: Olympic gymnast

Movie/Song: How Far I’ll Go from Moana

Pro: Sasha Farber

Dance: Contemporary

Thoughts: Auli‘i Cravalho performs, and they dance. It is a beautiful, perfect way to end the night. WOW.

Len: Fantastic.

Julianne: She loved it.

Bruno: It was beautiful.

Carrie Ann: Beautiful, powerful and poetic..

Scores: 9-9-10-10=38 out of 40

Normani and Val were called safe, which left Nick and Peta and Erika and Gleb in the bottom two.

Erika and Gleb were eliminated.
