Check out new Ellen DeGeneres JC Penney Ad

JC Penney has a new ad out with Ellen DeGeneres. Of course the One Million Moms Group is throwing another fit about it. They need to grow up!

This ad has nothing wrong with it. It is a nice holiday ad that just happens to have an openly gay woman in it. They are now saying they will boycott the store and not shop there. I personally just don’t get it at all! I see nothing wrong with it. What do you think? Sound off in the comments.

Mandy, It is obvious you don’t get it. It’s not the commercial that people object to – there is nothing wrong with the commercial. However, it is the spokesperson who appears in the commercial that is the object of protest to those who stand for traditional values. Let’s see if you can get this: Let’s say JCPenney hired a child molester as their official spokesperson (I am not saying Ellen is a child molester). That child molester could appear in a commercial that appears totally innocent to any viewer. However, the fact that JCPenney would hire a child molester as their spokesperson (the person representing JCPenney values) would be offensive to many people. Now do you get it?? It’s not the commercial that anyone is objecting to. It’s what the spokesperson represents that many find offensive. Namely, people who stand for traditional family values object to a large corporation hiring as their spokesperson someone who symbolizes non-traditional family values. Just like people who find child molesters offensive would object if JCPenney hired a child molester as their spokesperson. I hope this clarifies this issue for you.

I totally get why they have a problem with it. I just don’t agree.
