If you are on social networks, you have seen the story about the little girl who was allegedly kicked out of KFC because of her facial scars from a dog bite. This story has been spreading all over today but now Gawker is reporting that is really just a hoax. Their sources say that it never happened in the first place and this was just a family taking advantage of the system.

When this story came out, I have to admit that I thought it was all strange. A young girl goes into KFC to order a meal and is kicked out just because of the way that she looks. Victoria Wilcher’s family claimed that she was kicked out simply because of the scars on her face where a pit bull attacked her.

The family said they were told to leave because her face was disrupting other customers. The family has now received over $135,000 in donations to help with their medical costs. $30,000 of this money came from KFC.

The new reports say that this little girl Victoria was never in KFC according to surveillance cameras. Her grandma wasn’t there either. The pair reported that they ordered mashed potatoes and a sweet tea, but nobody ordered that during the day in question either.

Leader Call shares that the family originally went to Facebook saying, “Thank you for your support for Victoria. If you would like to file a complaint its the KFC on State Street in Jackson MS.” In reality, this location has been closed for years and it was not where it happened. They later changed their story.

The family went to their Facebook page tonight saying it was not a hoax at all. Their post says:

“I promise its not a hoax, I never thought any of this would blow up the way it has. The article circling the web calling this a hoax is untrue. The article it self say the investigation is not complete. It is not over until KFC releases a statement. The media outlet running this story is not connected with KFC. The family has not asked for anything, a attorney is handling all the media publicity for the family pro bono. Please do not believe untrue media. I have personally watched this family go without to provide for Victoria. They have not and would not do anything to hurt Victoria in any way.”

This page has been around for a while now and was being used to help Victoria out with her medical bills from the dog attack. It was up before the KFC incident ever allegedly happened in the first place.

Only time will tell if this story is true or not. KFC will do their investigation and hopefully a report will come out about if she was ever really in the store or not.
