When it comes to preschool, you always want new ideas for the kids. Bubbles can be a lot of fun. Here are some great ideas for things to do with them in your classroom.

Art Project – Take several different bottles of bubbles that are small and drop a few drops of food coloring into each one. Then print out a cute paper or even just use plain paper. Let the children blow the bubbles slowly onto the paper. They will pop on the paper leaving a neat pattern and when they dry the color will stay from the food coloring. This is a lot of fun for the kids. You can also do this on one huge paper with all of the children and then cut off a strip for each of them to take home with them.

Bubble Machine – Bubble machines are now very affordable. This is a great addition to your classroom. If you can’t afford one, ask a parent to let you borrow one they have at home. Take this outside and turn it on for the kids. Watch the kids run around chasing the bubbles and giggling. You can keep this in your room to use on nice days you go outside as an extra addition to the day.

Make Your Own Bubbles – You can make your own bubbles and let the kids help. Take two tablespoons of dish soap and add it to water. Mix it up well. It is fun to let them dump some of the soap in and help you mix.

Books -Here are three great books to read this week. They are “Bubbles, Bubbles” by Sesame Street Beginnings, “Bubble Trouble” by Margaret Mahy and “Pop! A Book About Bubbles” by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley.

Snack – Give the kids a drink where they can use a straw. Teach them how to blow bubbles in their drink with their straw. Give them crackers or something else that is a circle like the shape of bubbles.
