‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Finale Editing Mistake With Revolver

Tonight was the finale of “The Walking Dead” Season 3. If you don’t want to know what happened, stop reading because this post has a big spoiler in it. Did you pay close attention when Andrea killed herself on “The Walking Dead” Season 3 finale?

Andrea was locked inside a room with a gun after she was bitten by a walker. She had a revolver with her that was Rick Grimes gun. She then shot herself and you heard the shell fall and hit the ground letting fans know that she was dead. It was not a loud thump like a gun hitting the floor, but instead a small noise the type you hear from a shell.

My husband immediately picked up on what the show did wrong. She was in there with a revolver. When you shoot a revolver, there is not a shell that falls to the ground. It stays inside of the gun and you later take them out when you reload it. Did anybody else notice this on the show? Were you surprised that the show aired it that way? “The Walking Dead” made a big mistake on this one! Sound off in the comments below on your thoughts!

It wasn’t a shell, it was the gun hitting the floor. She had to drop it, since she was dead.

Wrong. That was the gun that hit the ground. Sometimes, being captious is just annoying.

That noise was not very soft. It was the revolver because you could here a couple clicks when it fell like the parts of a gun shifting. And I pay atte tion to detail too but not that much.

I thought that to at first, but that’s a bit silly (or so I thought). It was meant to sound like the gun hitting… although I can see why he’d think that.

The sound effect was a shell casing. No doubt. That light ting was not a gun.

It was clearly the gun that hit the floor. Also, even if it was a shell (which it was not) it could be possible that was the sound of Machone emptying the shell from the gun. Remember, she was still I’m the room with Andrea. That being said, the sound heard was that of the gun hitting the floor.

I didnt notice the shell casing hitting the ground. But I did notice that these guys can hit a walker in the head at 50 yds every shot with a hand gun. But can’t hit a person shooting at them to save their life.

Well I just watched the scene again and….I hate to admit it; but, unless it was a really weird eco in the room, you can hear what sounds like a bullet casing hitting the floor right before you hear the gun hit the floor.

Thanks for coming back Brandon. I agree. We watched it 5 or 6 times.

i was able to hear the shell hit the ground before the gun while using my headphones turned up, and i also noticed that it didnt seem loud enough to even be a revolver in such a small room

I am in agreeance with the above comments. It was the gun hitting the ground. Its not like she kept it in her hand..

She didn’t really die obviously. People keep trying to use real logic about this. “Well once she died she wouldn’t be able to hold the gun anymore”. That scene was just sound effects and they used the wrong one.

        I agree.

I think Michon helped her hold the gun, as a final act of respect of for their past friendship. If that was the case, the gun never hit the floor and the shell casing sound was a mistake.

It was a shell casing rolling across concrete… And it did not sound like a large caliber revolver to me.. sounded like a 9mm auto or something similar.

Besides, her comment just before was erroneous: “Don’t worry, I know how the safety works”…. Safety? On that revolver? NO!

the safety comment was a throwback to the first time Rick and Andrea met, just a last shot at lightening the mood before the inevitable.

Immediately after the shot there is a ringing sound that could either be echo after the shot or a shell casing hitting the floor, followed by the definite clunk of a firearm hitting the floor. The safety comments was a joke, it was something rick said to her the first time they met.
